Hello all! Here is a short autobiography so you know a little history about me. I was born November 3rd, 1981 in Juneau, Alaska to Mark Gregg and Rhonda Firestack. We lived in Yakutat, AK until my parents split up when I was 3. My dad re-married Loma Gregg and my mom re-married Leon Phillips. I spent my my k-12 years between the Seattle, Washington area and different parts of Alaska. Both my parents re-married had a child and divorced again, so I have a younger half brother and younger half sister, to whom both I am very close to. So I consider Alaska and Washington state to be my home. From my mom's side I am actually 1/4 Tlingit which is a Southeastern Alaskan Native tribe and my dad's Irish. I ended up going to high school at Stanwood High, in Stanwood, WA and every summer I had my own business commercial salmon fishing in Yakutat, AK which taught me a lot about business, sales and marketing. I grew up fishing with my native uncles every summer in Yakutat and when I was 16 I inherited a Set Net fishing license for the Situk river in Yakutat, AK. I could have sold directly to the local processor for around $1/lb or I could process myself and ship directly to customers for anywhere from $5-10/lb. These were my first lessons about business, seeing first hand how our hardworking fishermen only get $1- $2/lb and then corporate marketing companies mark it up 500-1000% then sell it to consumers. So of course at a young age I realized that I needed to understand how to market & sell products to people because as much as I loved living in Alaska with the fresh seafood, fresh air and fresh water I knew I could never have an impact on the world if I stayed and fished.
I have skied and snowboarded most my life and towards the end of my high school years I was a few months into competing professionally when I was preparing for a big air competition and while practicing I broke my back, neck and suffered a severe concussion which left me in a comatose state for a few days. I'm still processing the information that I received while out of my body, it was an experience of unconditional love in the purest state that you could imagine it. After a year of physical therapy I healed completely and instead of traveling on the pro-snowboard circuit I went to college at the University of Washington to study biochemistry and head down the pre-med track. I immediately learned that I disagreed in general with the western medicine's philosophy of healing (cut, burn & poison), by most the time treating the symptoms and rarely the actual root problem. So then I decided to do the business/economics track at the University of Washington and at the same time became a personal trainer ACSM certified in order to study more preventative maintenance health practices.
Since then I have worked in many different industries in many different roles but the last 10 years I have spent mainly working for marketing services companies and the last 5 specifically managing online marketing strategies and campaigns which is where marketing dollars will continue to move in the coming years
.
Four years ago I met my wife Michelle Gregg. She is an absolute angel and I love living this life with her. We have both started to awaken to our greater purpose as human beings not human doings. We've started to recognize the life systems that our society has faithfully put their trust in over the last 100 years will not be able to support us the rest of our lives and may not even be able to support us for the next 10 years unless massive transformation can happen.
We aren't content just waiting around for someone else to figure out the "energy problem" or the "food shortages" or the "water problem" or the "poverty problem" or the "climate problem" or the "budget problem" etc etc etc. No Michelle and I have taken it upon ourselves and committed our lives to looking at the ROOT problem. It is not enough to simply keep looking at the symptoms like a deer in the headlights we have to consciously wake up from the attitude that "someone else will figure it out." That type of "push the responsibility onto someone else" thinking is what has led to the state of the world that we now live in.
So, what are we doing about all these problems?
We are going to show how the root of all these problems is our addiction to a false world, a false paradigm of fossil fuels & false federal reserve notes A.K.A. debt or (death) paper. Because if we think more false fuel or more false money that is printed out of thin air, creating more debt & more profit for the top 1% is going to somehow 'bail us out' we have another thing coming!!
We are in the designing stages of building a Sustainable Eco Village network where we will share all of the "off-grid living" and sustainable cooperative information that we have gathered on our travels around the world. We have been blessed to meet many scientists who are working on the cutting edge of technologies new and old that will allow every family to easily and safely produce their own healthy Energy, Food, Water & Shelter!
